Private Cinema Nebula – Lake Como

A private cinema room located inside a villa on Lake Como, designed to offer an immersive experience in an elegant and highly scenic setting. A project where comfort, acoustics, lighting, and technology blend together in a dedicated room, with two rows of reclining seats, a large front screen, and a captivating starry sky ceiling that transforms viewing into an even more immersive experience.

Project Requirements:

• Create a dedicated cinema room within a villa, with a refined, contemporary, and highly emotional image.
• Integrate a two-row configuration of reclining seats, ensuring comfort, proper visibility and a “private cinema” atmosphere.
• Create a large-format projection with a fixed screen and ceiling-mounted projector, for a deep and immersive cinematic experience.
• Enhance the space with a distinctive scenographic element, in this case a starry sky ceiling inspired by the Milky Way and the constellations.
• Integrate acoustic treatment into the side walls, maintaining a clean aesthetic coordinated with the interior design.
• Ensure lighting control, visual order, and ease of use through dedicated scenes and intuitive room management.

Solutions Implemented:

Interior Design & Finiture

• Walls covered with dark acoustic panels integrated into the architectural design, vertical and diagonal light openings give rhythm and depth to the room, high-density technical carpeting, and a material palette of anthracite gray tones. The result is an elegant and intimate space, designed to make the room feel like an exclusive space, not just a simple utility room.

Scenographic ceiling & Atmosphere

• The project features a starry sky ceiling depicting the Milky Way and constellations, designed to enhance the sense of immersion and transform the viewing experience even before the film begins. Indirect lighting and recessed spotlights complete the atmosphere, creating an evocative yet controlled room.

Acustica & Comfort

• The side walls have been designed with sound-absorbing materials integrated into the finishes, to reduce reverberation and increase clarity, intelligibility, and listening comfort. The double-row seating arrangement allows for comfortable and balanced enjoyment, with proper distribution of vision and sound throughout the room.

Video & Projection

• A large fixed front screen and ceiling-mounted projector provide a high-impact cinematic experience, with final calibration for contrast, brightness, and image clarity. The configuration is designed to ensure a consistent rendering of the space and an engaging viewing experience from both rows of seats.

Immersive Audio & Calibration

• Multi-channel audio system with sculptural, reference-level front speakers, integrated in a configuration designed to deliver dynamics, detail, and presence. The system is complemented by high-performance subwoofers and a final stage of calibration and in-room testing, to achieve controlled, deep, and consistently clear listening.

Automation & Lights

• Integrated theater management with dedicated scenes for Film, Break, and Welcome, plus simple control of lighting, projection, and overall atmosphere. Every element is designed to make the theater easy to use and maintain order, visual clarity, and maximum usability.
